We are a group of about 20 fly dressers who meet regularly at Redhill Village Hall, near Bristol, to tie flies, learn from each other, and to chat about everything under the sun.
Meetings are held weekly from 7.30pm until 10pm
from September through to the end of May,
and on each first Wednesday of June, July and August.
We do not only tie flies. There are regular demonstrations from expert fly dressers, and in the last year we have had demonstrations of:
dyeing feathers and fur
cooking your catch,
Persian stuffed trout
Casting tuition from a qualified instructor
An evening devoted to nothing but tying knots!
In addition we have a range of hooks and tying materials available to purchase.
We welcome new members with open arms regardless of their experience.
If you have never tied a fly before we have two qualified instructors who would be happy to get you started in the art of fly dressing, and many other members who will share their experience.
If you are experienced please come, we can learn from you!
We mostly tie trout flies for river and reservoir, and a few members also tie salmon, sea and other flies.
So do come and join us!
