Latest State of the season's Fishing Championship
Competition for the 2025 fishing championship is Red Hot!
The bank fishing competition was held at Hawkridge Reservoir on March 5th. Several members bagged up early, including Steve Coles who won the prize for the biggest total catch. Terry Feest won the prize for the biggest fish.
Following a successful day on Chew on April 28th, when 67lbs of fish were recorded (about 21 fish) the leaderboard is headed by the 2023 champion, Terry Feest (29 ¼ lbs), with a dead heat for second place between 2024 champion Steve Coles and Dave Price, each with 23 1/2lbs, and another dead heat for 4th & 5th places between Jim McLaughlin and Bob South, both on 21lbs 1oz.
Terry Scored heavily with his beloved snakes. Whilst most fishing that day stuck to the more traditional patterns for feeding fish, buzzers & nymphs, at least two members eventually turned to the snake!
Heaviest fish of the season still sits with Terry, with his 6lbs monster from Hawkridge, and last Monday’s event saw Dave Price scoop the biggest fish prize with his 3lb 12 oz Rainbow (also caught on a snake).
With 2 rounds remaining, the title is wide open & competition fierce!
